October Birchbox Revie #4: Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle

I really did enjoy this product. I did exactly what it said by detangling and protecting my hair. But, I have a lot of hair and this sample was very small for me. Especially because it’s products like this that make me want to use it every day as a functional leave-in. But on to the product itself. Like I said I have a lot of hair, and if you didn’t know it’s very curly and it’s also very dry so it gets tangled very easy. The first time I used this I was very surprised at how fast I was able to brush through my hair and how long it stayed detangled for. Usually I brush out my curls every 2-4 days and i was able to wait 5 days before brushing my hair back out after using it as a detangler. I also really loved using it as a daily leave in which only took a few sprays right into the palm of my hand and then gently combing it through with my fingers. It left my hair shinier and smoother. AND I have used it with a mix of the Toni & Guy serum some of you Birchboxers got in your box this month and it helps for a mid-day flyaway fix. ANNNNNDDD it does smell awesome like everyone kept telling me.

But like I said before, for me it’s too small and too expensive for a bottle I will go through very fast on the days I want to do a full tangle. The full bottle retails for $21.95 for an 8oz. bottle, putting my bottle which looks to be less than an oz or around 1oz at about $2.75 which isn’t bad. That’s about how much you’d pay for a travel sized product.

In the end I probably would not pay the 22 dollars for it because it’s just not for me. I really loved the smell and what it did for me, but my hair is too long, thick and dry for me to use it, because it just sucks it up like it’s water! I do recommend it for everyone else though! October Birchbox Review 3: Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Pallette

So I really like the colors in this palette. They’re super fun and super pigmented (swatch below), but I’m not much of an eyeshadow person. But the colors are definitely vibrant and they’re very true to what you see in the palette squares. I also like that they had a little bit of a shimmer to them too. And honestly, I think I might teach myself a basic smokey eye for these because they would be great colors for the holidays! There’s a perfect balance here, and even though the darkest color may not be used I’m definitely going to try this out, I just have to wait!

It’s not the best swatch and he colors were better in front of me, but they were definitely good and I’m paler than this appears also!

Anyways so the full size pallette with 20 different colors retails at birchbox.com for $34.00 and it come with 2 different brushes. With four of the 20 colors the total value I got from this sample is around $5.00 maybe. But, even with it’s lower value, I think it is a very very good sample! Just not for me!

October Birchbox Review 2: Dr. Brand Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner

Okay quick *disclaimer* I did not try this but twice. I don’t have a noticeable problem with pores, so therefore after trying it once, I did not  see any change before or after using the product. I tried it a second day and I still saw really no change. So I gave it to the person I know who likes trying skin care products, my mother. She also has very bad pore problems. So this is not my whole opinion, but it is still very qualified and I think will give you all a good feel for the product so enjoy!

Alright, well the next morning after I gave my mom the product she tried it and she freaked. She came up to me and was like “Look!” and she pointed to her nose and there was definitely a noticeable shrink in her pores all along her nose and cheeks (her pore problem spots). Honestly, I was surprised it had worked so fast, she had just done it the night before. So I asked her a few other things, she said it felt refreshing and it was nice because it didn’t tighten the skin, or have to be peeled off like the nose strips you buy at the store that help with pore and that this was much much easier! She loves this product and she said it deserves a 5/5, even if the sample seems a little small, you don’t need a lot!

Although it had a pricey pricey price tag, I think she would buy it. They actually have a cool “gift set” type product which includes a full size Dr. Brandt’s Pores No More and then a whole bunch of Dr. Brandt samples! It’s definitely worth the look, plus it comes with a cute little bag as well!

Okay so talking about price this product retails for a full 1oz bottle at $45.00 and the sample size they gave was .25oz making it worth about 11.25! This product alone pays for my box! Impressive.

October 2014 Birchbox Review #1: Balance Me Wonder Eyecream

Can I say this has to be the best eyecream on the market today! I. FELL. IN. LOVE. I know I keep saying I’m going to hoard my BB points for other things, but I decided this is it. This will be my BB Christmas! I just can’t help it!! This product instantly (ok well quickly) de-puffs your eye! Not to mention by the time you let it set it makes your eyes look brighter, making you look more awake! This is a product that is not only good for pre-makeup looks but for day out on the town looks where you might not want to put on that foundation. I can’t wait for the summer for this product either, there will definitely be tons of days where I leave the house without a bit of anything on my face besides a SPF Moisturizer and the Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream!

This product was 7mL, and the full size is 15mL and retails for $38.00! This means that this product alone retails for around $17.73! WOW!! That’s almost double what I paid for this box alone! Definitely a great product, that I am planning to force my friends to buy, which means you should too!
